Apple fixes October 2022 Update iCloud bug, Microsoft removes upgrade block

Apple this week updated iCloud for Windows, resolving a stubborn bug that prevented the deject service from updating and syncing shared albums on the Windows 10 October 2022 Update.

The issue, which was seen with iCloud for Windows version 7.vii.0.27, initially acquired Microsoft to put an upgrade block in place for PCs that were already running iCloud, preventing them from installing the October 2022 Update.

"To ensure a seamless feel, Microsoft is blocking devices with iCloud for Windows (version 7.vii.0.27) software installed from being offered Window x, version 1809 until this upshot has been resolved," the company said at the time.

Microsoft's support folio has now been updated to bespeak that the issue is at present resolved with the release of iCloud for Windows version 7.viii.1. Users are encouraged to upgrade to the new version of iCloud before downloading and installing the Windows ten October 2022 Update, to avoid any problems.

Though the iCloud issue is now resolved, Microsoft notwithstanding has four upgrade blocks in place. One of the issues is related to Intel display drivers Microsoft says were "inadvertently released," and are causing bug by turning on unsupported features in Windows. Other upgrade blocks in place are related to F5 VPN clients, Tendency Micro compatibility issues, and unsupported AMD Radeon GPUs.
